Late for Pre-School…again

January 31, 2017

I’d like to think that I’m a person that is on time to most things…but the reality is that I’m just not. It sometimes makes me nuts that I’m not a punctual organized well put together person.

I used to be. Really I was on time to work, school, sports, whatever I was doing. But that was when it was just me. Now I have my 2 babies (currently 6 months and 2.5 years) with me most of the time or at least before I’m going somewhere I’m responsible for getting 3 people situated not just myself anymore.

And I LOVE IT!

Not the being late part but the babies with me part. (Of course not all the time, I mean I LOVE that my 2.5 year old is in Pre-School everyday!) I know that this really is a special chapter in my life that isn’t going to last forever.

I was just reminded today though that it’s okay that we have been late for school everyday for like a week and a half. And you know what, I have to admit, it’s been really nice in the mornings to not have to run around like a crazy person and rush through our morning routine.

Baby Hadley has been sleeping in and it has given me time to hang out with Hayden, see Bree and Sean off for the day, make his lunch without being in a frantic rush, possibly even clean up the morning dishes before we leave.

It’s been really quite nice to enjoy this sort of relaxed time in our lives. Because really after this chapter, once they’re in traditional school, we really need to be on time for that. I like that my babies get to sleep in as long as they want and not have to wake up to an alarm.

Now I will say that I’ve also been reminded this week about the Positive points associated with punctuality. Our daughter just got a job and she starts work at 5 PM. We had a discussion about how it’s best if she tries to arrive by 445 so that she’s never late. And that it’s a really good habit to get into.

I think I’ll get back into the habit myself.
